HTC Evo 4G LTE

Sprint Nextel CEO Dan Hesse confirmed that it will sell the Motorola Photon Q and provided an update on its high-end smartphones.

The Motorola Photon Q is the 4G LTE-compatible successor to the original Motorola Photon. Hesse said the carrier will launch the phone later this year. The device, like some of its other environmentally friendly phones, is ULE-platinum certified, and is designed to target business users.

Hesse made the comments on the company’s quarterly conference call today.
Hesse also talked up the success of Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy S III and HTC’s Evo 4G LTE. He didn’t provide any numbers, but said the carrier is seeing good early results from the Galaxy S III. Despite an early delay, the Evo 4G LTE is also seeing strong sales as well, he said.
Hesse also mentioned theiPhone at Virgin Mobile, but said it was too early to share results, as the company has yet to begin marketing the phone to Virgin customers.
